The Tokyo Lion case design is a nod to the inaugural Grand Seiko in 1960; the iconic lion emblem designed to reflect the watchmakers’ ambition to create the most precise, durable, and beautiful watch possible – to be ‘king’ of the watchmaking world just as the lion is the king of the jungle.
Built into a case crafted from high-intensity lightweight titanium, the champagne gold dial features a majestic lion’s mane pattern under a dual-curve sapphire crystal glass. This timepiece features silver-coloured hour, minute, second, and power reserve hands whilst the GMT hand is in a bright red colour for clear legibility.
This Tokyo Lion piece has a GMT function to measure multiple time zones simultaneously. The exhibition case back showcases the in-house built 9R66 Spring Drive movement with an accuracy of +/-1 seconds per day, whilst maintaining a 72 hour power reserve.
